| After
St. Thomas, I went to St. Leonard’s until it closed, and then Most
Holy Trinity. I joined the Army in 1968. I was a boat operator, got out
in 1971. Worked as a Taxi inspector for six months and did two years with
the National Park Service as a boat captain. Went to the Staten Island
Ferry in 1973, made captain after five years, retired in September of
2002. The city had a "buy out" after 9-11 and they gave me 37
years of credits. I currently do expert work for law firms in the New
York and Philadelphia area. I'm married with two boys and one girl, live
in Upper Mount Bethel, about one and a half hours from the city. I'm the
vice president of the North Bangor Fire Co. and the township fire-police.
I spent a few summer weeks here when I was a kid. Guess I like the place.
